"Top Must-Have Art Tools for your Art"

After years of doing art and trying different tools, I’ve finally found my go-to selection. I decided to create a list of my top art tools that I would recommend to anyone who loves art! These tools are great for portraits, detailing and more!

Faber Castell Pencils

Faber Castell are my personal favourite pencils for adding those important details in my work! The colours are extremely vibrant and go down smoothly, and they’re especially great for details on the fur of the animals I draw. They’re great for layering on top of each other to get the perfect colour and appearance and there’s a huge range of pencils available too – from polychromos artists’ pencils to Albrecht Dürer artists’ watercolour pencils, they’ve got everything you need to create colourful vibrant art!

Bio White Gel Pen

The Bio White Gel pen is my favourite pen for creating the fine hairs in the hair on my portraits. With the fine tip, this pen is great for the finer details on my portraits, including reflections and the finest of hairs. These pens go over the top of most materials smoothly and dry extremely well when placed, making them perfect for adding the final touches to an almost complete portrait.

Silhouette Cameo 4 Cutting Machine

The Silhouette Cameo 4 Cutting Machine is a definite must have for any artist who loves paper crafts. This digital cutting tool cuts paper to the size of your choice with extremely smooth lines each time and allows you to move the paper whilst in the machine! This machine has saved my life with my portraits and is definitely highly recommended for anyone who is creating papercrafts.

Winsor and Newton Watercolour And Gouache Paints

Winsor and Newton’s watercolour and gouache paints are a must-have for any artist using paint as a medium within their art. The watercolours are great for adding over the top of pencils. As well as when looking to create a colour that isn’t too vibrant and dries more transparent on the paper. The gouache is perfect for creating bold, vibrant pieces of art, and is similar to their watercolour paints. However, the colour lays opaque rather than transparent like the watercolours.

I hope you enjoyed my Top Must-Have Art Tools. What are your go-to tools for arts and crafts?

I love checking out new products and would love to hear them!
