With over 15 years of experience Gemma Lorente-Shore is renowned for her unique paper layering technique to create bespoke pet portraits and animal designs that put the wow into your home. Inspired by the Papercraft movement as well as her love for animals and nature, Gemma’s designs are unique and distinctive. In addition to her passion for animals and art, Gemma has a BA Hons in Creative Arts and a Diploma in Zoology and Photography.

Each portrait is hand-drawn and crafted, so you know you’re receiving a one-of-a-kind beautiful piece of art. She loves being able to capture and preserve the spirit and personality of your cherished furry friends in a unique, Paper Pawtraits way.

As well as portraits Gemma creates all forms of paper stationery and toys which are based on her love of Folk Art, fairytales and paper. She has a wide range of products which make perfect gifts for any special occasion. 

​

Gemma is also a children’s Illustrator. The most recent book she has worked on is ‘The Architect of Dreams’ 2022 All the illustrations in the book were intricate paper cuts capturing the story within.

Currently living in her hometown of Wolverhampton, UK, Gemma has a few pets of her own. Five adorable house rabbits called  Blizzard, Marbles, Laguna, Skye and Amber who you can see on there very own instagram account called 'Fluffy Bunny Tales'.

Paper Pawtraits Achievements


Gemma originally started Paper Pawtraits in 2018. Creating bespoke pet portraits for pet owners and animal lovers around the world. Gemma’s work has earned the attention of iconic top magazines, bloggers and pet industry influencers. As a result, Gemma’s portraits have also been showcased at Crufts Dog Show, Twycross Zoo and more! 

In 2022 Gemma illustrated ‘Architect Of Dreams’ c
hildren’s book by Renea Bartlett which on the day of its launch reached No1 in the Amazon USA Children’s book charts and was given International Best Seller status. 

From 2020 Gemma’s work was recognised in the UK. She subsequently has won three years in a row prestigious awards for ‘Online Specialist Store Of The Year’

As a result of her success, Gemma has been able to make donations to various animal charities, helping countless animals in need. Being able to help charities close to her heart through her work gives her even more joy in her art. Some of the charities she has worked with include, Fat Fluffs Rabbit Rescue, Greyhound Trust, and more!
